The Flying Eagles of Nigeria begin their bid for a FIFA U-20 World Cup ticket today in Niamey, Niger Republic where they face Burundi in their Group A opening game of the African U-20 Nations Cup.
The four semifinalists in the championship will get tickets to the world championship in Poland in May and June.
Nigeria, who has won the African U-20 competition seven times, is expected to get a flying start in its opener against Burundi. Other opponents of the Flying Eagles in Group A are South Africa, which it will play on February 5 and hosts, Niger Republic three days later.
The first two teams in Group A will meet their counterparts from Group B in the semifinals.
Group B has Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso and Ghana fighting for the semifinals tickets. ble 1 Light
